We are here talking about oral allergy syndrome. Oral allergy are where certain fruits or foods or nuts cross react with bad pollens.

Usually, it is birch or oak but it could also be ragweed where we get allergy-like symptoms when eating these foods. Typically, it is itchy mouth, itchy and numbness, and typically it is with the raw fruits.

For example, I see it in a lot of people who have bad springtime allergies where they cannot eat peaches or apples or melons, or even raw bananas. It generally does not go anaphylactic but it is very irritating.

There are certain measures you can do like heating food should be fine, possibly taking antihistamines before eating would be helpful. We see a lot of oral allergy especially in the bad spring or ragweed seasons.
