I wish there was a similar channel on physics and mechanical engineering.

Having just finished differential equations and taking linear algebra starting next week, this looks like a great book!

Listening to you speak about math is keeping me interested in my differential equations class. It's sometimes hard to remember that I enjoy learning new concepts when you're bogged down with partial fraction decomposition and Laplace transforms.

Idk why linear algebra is such a big deal its just y = x man

This is a great book. I am actually working through it myself!

Love your vids, love your wholesome advice, love your mentality. Thanks for your recommendations ❤ I am planning to study math at uni next year and looking to prep this summer

Also really not trying to be a smart-ass but it is: "et cetera" for "etc." not some ekcetera or some other variations that are in circulation. So many knowledgeable people got it wrong. It is incredibly pervasive. Maybe one day everyone will say it wrong and then it becomes right again. Guess that's how language works ❤

Anyway thank you for everything Gandalf of Maths. 😊

The book strikes me as a partial altenative to Kreszig or Zill's engineering math books.

On the topic of DiffEQ, your lecture videos were fantastic!

It would be great if you had a book review playlist

I loved your class on DE using the Zill book, so this went on the wishlist for sure. You love the way books smell so much, you should work at a book manufacturer. You would never leave the building due to how it would smell in there. They'd have to furnish you a room on the 5th floor.

Should you study this in one course or as separate courses?

I think I've stated this before in one of your other videos in the past that Linear Algebra and Differential Equations can be both taken simultaneously. At my university, Linear Algebra had to be taken as at least a co-requisite to Differential Equations. Most math Majors ended up taking Linear Algebra as a prerequisite (between Calc II and Differential Equations, ) but I happened to be one of the few oddballs who took Linear Algebra and Differential Equations during the same term, not to mention that I also took Calc III (Multivariable Calc) that same term too. I did that to get ahead of the rest of my class since I knew by the 2nd semester of my sophomore year I wanted to go to Grad School for Mathematics. So, as long as courses were being offered and didn't conflict with my schedule, I took as many Math courses I could each term once any prereqs were no longer of concern. I really didn't come to the appreciation how Linear Algebra and Differential Equations can be intertwined until Grad School when I took a full year of Theory Of Ordinary Differential Equations and seeing both at play when dealing with Systems of Linear Differential Equations.

As @walter274 said, combining linear algebra with diff eq is common in "advanced engineering mathematics" and "linear methods" courses and books for the same like those from Kreysig, O'Neil, etc

For someone self-studying, can Calculus-based Physics (& Engineering) be learned before Differential Equations & Linear Algebra? Or should DiffEQ & Linear Algebra be learned before Calc-based Physics (& Engineering)?

How to read this book and still like new ? Why you don’t put any lines on it i heat that

Thank you for the review. Could you compare/contrast this text to Gilbert Strang's text of the same name?

This will be useful when I take the courses!

You should take a look at "Topology: Point-Set and Geometric" by Paul L. Shick. It's the textbook that my class is using for elementary topology 1, and I really like it

What’s the best physics course to take on udemy I understand that this is a math channel but I would like to become an electrical engineer even though I have autism

Never seen these two topics of math in the same textbook.
