You are absolutely right. Just only one point to mention..that is, Buddhist text is not reliable..because, buddhist potrayed Asoka's cruelty befor being a buddhist...and that for their religious interest i.e. to show the charishma of Buddhism.... (and they didn't reveal Ajatashatru's cruelty, though he and his father were direct disciple of Gatama Buddha....mind Thanx a lot for your effort...keep it up...all the best

Interesting and informative. History has been manipulated to serve narrow interest, so The Great Asoka is no exception.

Moggaliputta Tissa Thero converted Ashoka, and helped him to be good. Chandragupta started the battles with the support of Chanakya, and the battles continued until Ashoka's conversion.

Its the opposite, the brother Susima was the one with the torturing room, arrogant and cruel behaviour, and all the brothers supported him as they got a share in the revenues, while Ashoka Rebelled and had to kill all his brothers as if they would be alive, Susima would again grow to power. And you can't argue that in the previous eras many people killed their own blood for thrones, whilst Ashoka's was for a fairly good reason.

Ashoka and pushyamitra shunga were great Kings .They both respected Brahmins and Sharmana/  Buddhist monks. Ashok writes in his rock edicts and commands citizens to respect the Brahmins and Sharmana. He also funded them to teach ethics to citizens of his empire.

Pushymitra shunga repaired Sanchi stupa. It's only Neo-Buddhist, leftist and Non-Bihari. The far right tries to create a feud between Ashoka ( Buddhism ) and Pushyamitra shunga ( Brahmins). The people of Bihar should not fall for this propaganda. They should be proud of their brave and powerful ancestors who drove Maleecha/ Mileekha away from Jambudwip/ Bharat. Ashoka never called himself emperor of Bharat, but he called himself Laja- e- Magdha. The king of Magadha to indicate that Magdha ruled over the entire Subcontinent and beyond

If He would not have converted into Buddhist then they would say always that he was great

Just puking some rubbishes from some random books by some random western authors in English will not make your points legit.

Don't try to mislead the youths by distorting the History of our Great Bharat
