Kent I just want to say that you. I struggle with depression and anytime I feel upset or sad, I just turn on your videos and watch you cook up some awesome food and I immediately feel better. Your channel has really helped me get through the pandemic. Hope you have a great 2022. May God always bless you, Shannon, and the dogs.

Growing up I was the oldest of 3 boys. I loved the drumstick and so did my brothers. Sometimes I had to play the seniority card to get one because there were 3 of us and only 2 drumsticks. I would sometimes let them win too, because it was only fair. We're still all good friends 70 yrs later.

Here in England when I was young chicken was so expensive we rarely had it..
It was a real treat.

As an American that has studied tons of different cuisines like French and English and other European countries, it’s really amazing to see true good American cooking.

I think in the future you will be the face of American cookery Kent. Keep it up.

You are such a sweetheart and amazing cook, but it tugs at my heart when you salute the veterans. My late husband died in 2016 as a result of his service in VIET NAM. When he came home in 1969 veterans were not shown the respect WWII, Desert Storm & Afghanistan & Iraq war vets received. VN vets were ostracized. So thank you for including all vets in your tribute at the end of your videos.

After church, my dad taught all of us, (12), kids how to make spaghetti sauce from scratch. Thank you for honoring the vets and your thanks to God after each--I love it.

You have the same accent my grandpa did. It took me off guard initially because he passed away, and I hadn't heard the southern accent he had in forever. Thank you for a great recipe and helping me remember my grandpa 😊 😃

I used to beat my brother all the time on the pully bones. He would get so mad. The chicken looks so yummy. Thank you.

Hello Kent
You prayed for me a few years ago when I was going through some bad stuff. I really was done living and wanted to die!
I'm doing well now so thank you brother!

Ah, the wish bone was a prize. We used to let it dry and then make a wish and who ever got the big piece got his or her wish. The grandkids still love this old tradition

I was taught to cut up chicken what my dad called restaurant style in the mid sixties. We had a small grocery store in the Missouri Ozarks. The chicken ended up 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 wings, 2 back pieces the tail and the neck side, 2 breast pieces and then the pulley bone part of the breast. Hadn’t heard that in years it was always my favorite part.
Kent you were talking about cross contamination the food police would have had a heart attack back then. We cut everything pork, beef, chicken and venison during deer season on the same big wood butcher block. Just scraped it down in between and continued on. Each night it was covered with salt and scraped down again the next day before starting again. How things have changed.
Haven’t heard of canned chicken either in years but remember mom and dad having Swanson can whole chicken on the shelf to sell. You said in the beginning about Marie Calanders (sp) in the beginning don’t remember those but definitely remember Banquet pot pies. Moms didn’t have a recipe for pot pie it was whatever was in the icebox and most of the time just had canned biscuits on top.
That looks so fantastic to this old country boy. Tell Shan it’s never to much butter lol.
