Closed Guard Stalling: Defeating the Sticky Elbow Problem (BJJ/Jiu-Jitsu/MMA)

First of all, this is NOT a video on how to stall in the closed guard. It's the opposite: when you’re working to attack the straight armlock (juji) or simply to move your partner’s arm across your body, you find that their elbows seem to be glued to your hips. They know that to create movement for the armlock or to go the back, you’ll have to move that elbow inside your hip - so they remain locked in place, either in an effort to defend your move or to stall in your closed guard. We have a few different strategies for how to solve this annoying problem. By employing your hips, you can generate enough movement and kuzushi to make space to adjust. We have either one large movement, like a jack-knife, or a set of smaller ones more like kipping. Finally, we have a solution that misaligns the elbow to weaken the grip and allow you to attack the way you want to.

Thank you, very insightful. I never saw anyone explain this “bridge bumping” concept. Will implement right away as my single bridge method is very limiting.
Great content as always
