Another tip from an artist here: Start with the lightest colour first and then go deeper. It is always possible to darken things up but harder to make things light and vibrant again unless you use a concealer and do a cut crease or smth 💕

beginners: remember, the blend is not going to be perfect the first time you try it and may not look good for a while, and THAT IS PERFECTLY OKAY. everybody starts somewhere and some people can get it down within a few weeks, for others it may take months or even years to perfect. i’ve been doing my own makeup for YEARS and i am still learning how to perfect the blend and i practice all the time.

I gave up on colorful eyeshadow because it always looked muddy. You pointed out the issue I was having! No clue. Thanks <3

As a person of color, Juvia’s Place is one of the staples and most important brands catered to us. I’ve been using their products for years and they are a breath of fresh air.

Can’t believe you tried to show us a “bad example” and accidentally created a sunset masterpiece.
Let’s face it, you just can’t do bad makeup! 😂😍

Juvias place is a great brand made by a woman of color with women of color in mind. The colors are so deep and vibrant so that they can show up on our darker skin tones well since unfortunately, most palettes end up ashy or not as pigmented on us. Love how you use the palette and the tutorial! I mostly only use similar colors like all red or all orange bc adding others just adds stress. This really helps.

EDIT: I just reported and blocked one of those accounts pretending to be me! I
m not running any giveaways, DO NOT click any links! The user name they usually have is WhatsApp and then a number***

And let me know if you want to see a demo for other color combos! 🙌🏼❤

This is the first makeup video I've watched in yeeears probably around 10 years because I absorbed what I've watched in middle school and just learned my way by playing and practicing.
It's so delightful to see something advanced and useful. I'll most definitely start watching more videos now ❤️

OMG ... another "missing link" video! I appreciate these SOOO much. THIS is the kind of makeup video I need the MOST! These are like sitting in a class for makeup theory and color theory ... like going to cosmetology school and really learning something valuable to up one's game. Thank you!

I absolutely love that you explained the color wheel. It makes things easier to understand when you apply colors. I would never think of that! I love how your looks come out. I am 56 and am ot the most colorful in terms of a whole look, but I apppreciate the expert tutorial! You are well deserved of your 1million+ subscribers!!!

I’d love to see the progression from purple to yellow in the opposite cool tones direction. Blue seems to get really muddy than other colors for me.

Honestly I really love the yellow blended in with the purple together

I'm a transmasc who's getting back into makeup as I feel more comfortable in my body, and this video was super approachable as a beginner! Thank you!

This episode really showed your art background. As a watercolor painter I L O V E the purple/ yellow combo, my least fav is red/green. That said you pulled this off beautifully, and the neutral that you got mixing the two was actually pretty bomb in its own right. Nose piece is cool, is it weird to wear? ClaudiaSJI

another good thing to know is there is a different set of primary colors, magenta, cyan and yellow! this is really helpful when it comes to more advanced looks and neon colors! you can make every color possible with those three, since neons can’t be achieved with red blue and yellow. but! you can achieve RBY with the MCY primary colors!
