"Free" is a relative term. They're only free if you don't count hours of cleanup and damaged blades.

We have some utility poles around the farm. We have thought about sawing them but every time we look at them we think about the creosote and the nails and just walk away. Great job on sawing them they do make a nice post or lumber

Im picking some of these up today. I have a LT15 with a 19 hp gas. I just have standard 10 degree blades. Can I ask the HP youre running and what blades are working for you?
Thanks for the videos!!!

Good job there Mr.Dave
It’s funny you posted this video and I just turned down a job milling up 65 poles for a gentleman. You get great lumber out of them. The gentleman never cleaned them and wasn’t willing to pay me to clean them or pay for blades. I’d like to find some that was out in the wooded area instead in residential.
That’s for sharing. Take care

Dave I see what looks to be an OLD STONE WALL next to the drive way, it’s crazy to think you are standing in a place that once was a farmers field. The poles where I live have Hundreds of nails and staples left in them from for sale signs yard sale signs political signs, those LOGS do look nice.

Why not just shave enough off to get a 6x6 even if heavy wane? Still usable in a "pole" barn & every bit cut off just weakens the pole more.
