I love watching the mill cuting lumber. Its just someth gets me. Several years ago iived in Missouri and i knew two brothrs that had a nig yime saw mill. They would let me vet all the oak slabs i wanted and daw dust for my garden. I enjoyed watching them run the very large logs. They two big blades and no matter how big the log they could cut it.

I did that one time and got sick from the creosote and what other chemicals are in them.

Creosote, CCA, and several other hazardous chemicals have been used to treat those poles . Which poison is in the ones that you are cutting? Hopefully none of the wood is being burned !!

I did this growing up working my dads sawmill then we went to the woods and cut some logs to mill into lumber.

I've been sawing for 59 years of my 74 years of life here in Alaska... AND we still have all of our old sawmill equipment my father made himself just by inspecting one he saw in Washington just a few years after Korea and then tool and dyed his own and still works today! Its slow as hell...but fun to play with regardless! Those are times of innovation that has brought about the building of all we see today! Love seeing the old machines of my fathers day, and showing my great grandchildren where and when it all began!

I figured they would have nails and other crap to mess up your saw blade.
That dust is really bad for you they treat those so they don't rot and get bugs.

Sure hard on the skin with the preservative but it don't have much of a lasting effect ....the nails and bolts in the poles can do 3000$ damage to a saw real easy
