In COMSOL Multiphysics®, you can use the Parameter Estimation study step to estimate the value of one or more parameters so that your computational results match some set of reference data. This functionality is useful if you are provided with a set of results that you want your simulation to emulate.

In this video, we demonstrate how to perform a parameter estimation study; review different use cases; and show you how to compare model data and reference data, as well as extract the optimal values for the parameters you are estimating.

1:28 - Modeling Overview
5:35 - Create Definitions

COMSOL 5.3a does not support transient control variables, but you can define a function f(t) = a0+a1*t+a2*t^2 etc. with an arbitrary number of parameters a0, a1, a2. You will then be able to solve the least squares optimization problem with respect to those parameters.

Is it possible to estimate transient value of parameter, which changes with time? If yes, then how?
