How To Get The Best Ship Early In Starfield

Here’s a guide on how to quickly obtain a new spaceship the Razorleaf and powerful Mantis armor set in Starfield. The Mantis quest is also an easter egg being a side quest in Fallout and Skyrim.

Starfield will be available on September 1st for Xbox Series S|X and PC. Similar to most Bethesda games, it is a large RPG set in space. This means that you can venture off in any direction, but you may miss out on quests, loot, and high-level starships and armor.

In this video, we will guide you on how to obtain one of the best ships and armor sets right from the start. This is the Mantis Quest, which will reward you with the Razorleaf as your new home ship. The Razorleaf is equipped with powerful engines, lasers, and missiles, and its interior includes a weapons bay to store and display your favorite guns. Once you have the Razorleaf, you can customize it to your liking at shipbuilders. We highly recommend adding a Stroud workshop 2x1, which will allow you to research and modify habitats, space suits, consumables, and weapons. The Mantis armor, which you will also receive from this quest, is a high-level armor set that carries a reputation. The Mantis armor has an auto-healing feature, increases your ability to run even when encumbered, and can randomly set enemies on fire.

Finally, both the Mantis Armor and Razorleaf spaceship carry a reputation that will impact how the game plays. People will recognize you, and pirates will flee. Another note for everyone is quick save at the armor and reload the save till you get the best gear

It is also good to wait till around level 13-15 as most of the npcs are in the 30's range. It can be quite a challenge if you attempt it too low. Definitely bring lots of ammo and med packs.

The ships good but if you grind a little and complete the FreeStar Rangers quest like line you’ll get a Class A ship that completely outclasses this one for free. The Star-Eagle ship is a beast with over 2000 cargo, 5 crew slots, and 900 shield. You don’t even need to level up piloting to fly it so it’s definitely worth the work

PSA: The note randomly spawns on spacers. Not just this specific location. You may go here and there may be no note on them. Just go to other spacer locations.

The armor is somewhat OP for how early in the game you can get it. But then armor isn't all that effective in this game anyway. I kept it for most of my playthrough just because mine came with the legendary perk that makes all weapons only count for 50% of their actual weight.

The ship, while a decent improvement over the starter ship isn't really all that great. If you're after a good ship you're better off completing the rangers questline which gifts you the Star Eagle upon completion which as far as I'm aware is far and away the best pre-built class A ship in the game. Right out of the box with no modifications it's got room for 5 crew, something like 2700 cargo capacity, 29ly jump capability, and it absolutely tears through ships like butter in space combat.

I just progressed as a vanguard because I chose to be soldier and kinda got the ship. Enjoying the dialogues. I think it's best not to skip them because u can really get an idea about all options

Highly recommend quicksaving before picking up the armor. I didnt realize and the roll I got for perks was a bit lackluster compared to my friends.

Got the mission to go to the graveyard, cleared out 100% of the spacers and the other enemies, looted every body. Went through the entire port at least 3 times, not a single note for a secret base
