A big tip to make fighting the lynels easier:

If you fuse a wing device to your shield it allows you to shield jump higher, which then in turn allows you to use bullet time with your bow.

Makes it much easier to hit the lynel weak spots

The fierce deity sword can be rebought from a Poe statue in the depths near the center of the map. (You can ask the Poe statue at the lookout village for locations on other statues and it should point to the right one.)

To get easier headshots, try using keese eyes, due to them having homing they're more likely to beam the lynel in the face.

If you guys are having the issue where you aren't getting double damage with the fused item on the royal guard claymore make sure to fuse the item with the claymore before damaging it.

If I recall correctly there's a lightroot within viewing distance from the upper wall of the coliseum that you can activate to not only have a closer warp point but also to light the area up so you don't need to use brightbloom seeds while fighting.
After checking my map it's slightly to the southeast of the coliseum, called Mu-ustust lightroot. It's more to the east than to the south, close to the eastern lower shore of the lake the coliseum is in the middle of.

The final Lynel had me shaking the entire fight. Between it damaging the boulder breaker and tearing through my shields like a hot knife through butter, Im glad I beat that thing and I’m definitely going to fight it again. It was extremely fun and gave me a learning experience on shield parries and headshots

You can also use Rock Octorok's to fully restore item durability and get Wep Modifiers.

Do mind that once you give an Octorok an item, its use is done so kill it; or reload save if not happy with the mod prefix; so go around Goron Village and treat those Octoroks with love!

Fantastic guide! Didn’t find this until I was further in the game but still immensely helped!
Having 3 of the 4 sages I can say that they just get in the way except for Tulin who came in clutch and staggered the final Lynel when I was out of Fairies and down to my last heart. I was then able to mount and finish him off.

Actually, you can get a replica of almost any unique weapon from the Bargainer statues in the Depths. For example Fierce Deity Sword you can exchange for 160 Poes ;)

Depending on how froggy you're feeling, you can use the Phantom Ganon set (or radiant set upgraded to level 2 if you're scared) and fuse a Moldoga jaw to your Royal Guard's Claymore. This turns the weapon into a bone weapon for the purpose of scaling. This can be combined with Attack Up (you'll have to eat for it) to edge out Silver Lynel horns as the top damage dealing weapon. I also heard that you can further double the Royal Guard's Claymore damage (regardless fuse, set bonus, etc.) by leaving 1 hit remaining in It's durability. I haven't tried it so I can't confirm that part.

If you fuse a Zonai wing to you shield, you get extra height when jumping it shield surf. It lets you activate the bullet time effect with you bow. Makes the headshots much easier.

Bro you're a life saver. I've been hunting Lynels for awhile now and only found a few for farming. I never knew there was an entire colosseum of these guys in the depths.

Literally watched this then did it all within the hour and it's an excellent guide. I especially found the hint to lock onto the Lynels helpful to get more consistent headshots. Thanks bud!

For lynels, it helps to aim for the beard, lower than the eyes. This seems to consistently stagger them. So try aiming lower then you might otherwise try to. It also gets much easier with multi-shot bows.

for me the best method to mount Lynels is to parry any attack and then aim a shot in the right side of the lynel face, chin level, you will never waste an arrow. only attacks that you have to late parry are the full spin attack and the big explosion. love the video very informative.

Your videos are by far the best. No fluff, straight to the point, great guides.

I love exploits in games that aren't gamebreaking, just taking advantage of mechanics in the game. Great video, thank you!
