Hello!

This video we will be discussing how to create very basic QOS on a MikroTik device using Simple Queues. I will walk you through the setup on a MikroTik device using a real lab that was setup in EVE-NG. We will also be performing bandwidth tests to verify that the QOS is working. If you enjoy the content please share the video as well as liking it :) Subscriptions to the channel are also always welcome!

Good video keep it up! I have configured mangle rules and Queue Tree QoS on my Routers, but not Simple Queues before. I watched a Mikrotik MUM video with the Guardians of the Galaxy guy talking about QoS and he said that Simple Queues are better on the CPU than the Queue Tree option so I should certainly look into changing to SImple Queues and this has helped and hopefully your next video will help too. I hate to be the guy that corrects someone, but you said that packets will drop when they reach their shaping limit but that isn't correct. When they hit the shaping limit they should be held in the queue of the Router and only be dropped if that queue size becomes full. I am sure you know this and were just trying to keep it simple :) Keep up the great work mate, kind regards from Australia.

I have a dhcp that I want to limit bandwidth in mikrotik. I want to make sure that users can use all the bandwidth when they start downloading, but then, for example, they are limited to a certain speed after 10 seconds. How can I do this?

Hi Berg, have you made the second video for more advanced queues? I can't find it!

Nice video! Curious will you be touching on QOS and FastTrack? (Apologize if you have already touched on it and I missed it.) I have known QOS and FastTrack are not possible or so that is what I have understood for a while now. Your content is incredibly valuable and I really appreciate the detail and depth you go into.

A QoS suggestion, lower the music a bit, or leave it out entirely. it's a bit distracting
