We had a Phillipino kid named Rayzon, he stole a petty officers uniform from the shark tank and walked off base. They found him months later working for cash at a hotel, brought him to ship 17 for separation and he ended up running away again when an RDC told him if he didn’t like what they were doing he could go awol again. Dude called his bluff, they had 24 hour watch on him after that.

Gotta love a government getting the youth to sign contracts so when they realize they made a mistake, you can basically both force them to stay and punish them if they leave. I respect our soldiers, but not the system that both recruits them before their brain is fully delveloped and makes them stay if they ask to leave. The soldiers are the ones making the sacrifice. The system is the one manipulating the youth.

My dad went thru that boot camp in 69. Few short years later. Became an officer in marine corps. Vietnamese interpreter during Vietnam.

In boot camp you can drop out at any time before you finish and are Sworn in. Good bless the woman and men that stick it out. Having spent 20 years of my best life in the army. Respect to my brother and sisters nothing but respect

I did what I could to get out of boot as short as possibly. I just did what I could do to make through another day in life.
I still wake up thinking I made another day alive. Enjoy life and I'm glad I went through boot, I learned a lot and never regret it. I'm a Vet and proud to have joined bcause I know i made a difference.
