I saw one in my bathtub last week. Had the nerve to ask me to scrub its back.

I live in Texas, when I was a teen back in the early 80s we went to south padre island regularly. one day we went, and people up and down the beach were all freaked out, they said there was a crocodile swimming in the surf and it was between 15 and 20 feet long !
about an hour after that, a guy that rented fishing equipment to people ran out into the surf with a cast net and caught the beast !
it was an alligator...about 6 and half feet long

9:07 Correct, the largest estimates for mosasaurs cap out around there, although I believe Oceans of Kansas 2nd ed by Michael Everhart stated that the biggest you could probably expect was 20 meters, though two meters isn't much of a difference at that size.

I recall a video my brother had taped off TV back in the 90''s an interview with this guy who was on what looked like a harbour Cruse & had videoed the night, he passes by a girl dancing & then to the sea & all of the sudden : You see a long neck with what looks like a Turtles head on the end "Look over at the boat then Plunges back into the sea" making a large white water splash ! pretty grainy but blew me away.... not sure what program it was on as it was a long time ago

Also I believe the salt water crocodiles have come to NewZealand in the summer time, not so much since they were well hunted in Australia but before that when there were large numbers the odd one came here in the summer months and when it started to get cold headed away .

that first sighting sounds like a fin whale, theyre super long and slinky for a whale and can look like eels bc they have small fins and almost never breach fully out of the water

There are tons of videos showing crocks able to lunge up out of the water up to their back legs then slip back the same way described. so most of the creature could have been out of the water. 30 feet out, 15 feet in...

My grandfather was a sailor in the late 1, 800’s and early 1, 900’s and used tell me sea stories and my favorite story about a sea monster he saw that sounds a lot like this mosasaurus.

Salt Water Crocodiles wandering outside of their normal range, maybe?

Maybe an undiscovered extremely rare, species of large marine crocodile?

Also in NZ it's pronounced tan-i-fa. All WH sounds in Maori language are pronounced as "f" njt unlike "PH" in the English language 👍
