0:00 - Just start
0:32 - Motivated to learn a language
1:21 - Finding motivation
1:40 - Time

I just came back from my first visit to Japan, and I can attest that it really does motivate you. I've consumed enough Japanese media over the years that I've acquired a tiny bit of the language, like really basic stuff, but even that seemed to be appreciated by a lot of the people I interacted with.

Now I'm trying to actually learn it, because I'd like to be able to understand more of it when I listen to it and would like to be able to communicate better when I go back for a second trip. Considering Im not even at a level where I could hold a real conversation with someone though, staying motivated definitely is difficult when you're at the bottom of the mountain looking up 😅.

A wonderful video as usual, can't wait to see more❤.

Starting to learn a language is the most important point in this lifelong journey. There is a motivational quote that always inspires me when I want to do new things: "If you believe you can, you're halfway there."

Consistency is a key factor for success in anything, even if you don't see immediate results. Trust the process and keep going.

For me, the start of learning languages came when I saw my mother's friend speaking five languages fluently to the point that you couldn't tell if she was a native speaker or not.

Interestingly, she couldn't read or write in any of the five languages because she was illiterate😮. This was the motivation that pushed me to learn languages and made me believe that anyone can learn anything regardless of the difficulties they may face.

I am still in the early stages and haven't crossed the 1, 000-word mark yet. My approach is to spend a long time with a specific set of words, mastering them before moving on to the next set. I learned this method from Bruce Lee, who said, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10, 000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10, 000 times."

I have made significant progress since the beginning of the year and have reached about 400 words. My goal is to reach 1, 500 words by the end of the year.

Don´t start speaking from the beginning. It´s better to learn and listen (a lot of input) more before trying to speak!!

I just say this video is kinda wrong, as he said he can't talk and really understand much. In comprehensible input method, inspired by krashen you learn how it spoken by listening. It works great I learn Spanish rightnow and have no issues understanding and speaking spanish. There is a good wiki where you can find yt channels who give such input. Importantto know is that you will need time because you start as a toddler basically.
