To say that he murdered by way of insanity is the same as saying he killed with intent, but not take responsibility for it. It's a cheap way to try and get out of being held accountable for the crime.

They threw the insanity one in there because he did it. That he hears voices does not change his will to obey them. Or actions he carries. Many a judge will err on appeasing the Faux outrage of making a victim out of the criminal. If he was insane and Good he would admit he did it and make a case why his insanity is any excuse. I sure hope he wasn't arrested because law enforcement thought he killed his barber. Never let your hair grow long because the sheriffs will assume you had to have killed your barber. If you say you didn't do it, they aren't going to buy that off you.
