2007 - 2012 Mazda CX 7 Radio install | AVH-1400NEX

Watch a full tutorial as a Mazda CX-7 will have a new Pioneer Double Din radio installed. We will be using the Pioneer AVH-1400NEX touch screen bluetooth radio. This radio features Apple Carplay while retaining the factory BOSE sound system.

This video applies to Mazda CX-7 models for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Note: 2010-2012 features a slightly different dash bezel, but the install will be just the same. This video also includes complete radio wiring, complete installation, and testing.

For anyone that DOES NOT have the BOSE system: If you hooked everything up, and the radio turns on and functions, but the audio sounds "flat, static-ey" and has "no bass" AND the EQ settings dont work on your new radio. What you wanna do is cut off the RCA audio connectors, separate the two wires for each; Front Left, Rear Left, Front Right and Rear Right, and then just wire the speaker wires one by one like installations without the RCA connectors. The audio should be louder, crisper, and the EQ settings should work. If you dont know if you have BOSE or not, just open the trunk and lift the plastic cover that hides your spare wheel. If you dont have a silver looking box screwed underneath the Driver side back seat, then you dont have BOSE system. Should have wires connected to it and all. That was also my problem because i THOUGHT i had BOSE, because the Factory radio had "BOSE" settings only available to vehicles with it, but my CX-7 didnt have a BOSE fuse, nor BOSE Amplifier in trunk area. So just be sure to find out if you have BOSE or not. hope this helps anyone with same issue.

Idk if you’re still active but i have a question. The original stereo has the smaller harnesses attached to it. I see you put the big harness (white) into the new harness (orange). What did you do with the other smaller harnesses (white)

I guess they changed the radio style from 2011 to 2012 cause my radio is completely different.

I also already have a back up camera from the factory can that be used or will I have to get something different?

I recently change out my factory radio with steering control wiring as well. The volume up/down works but the answer/end calls buttons no longer are functional. Is that normal?
