This is early game footage from the unfinished Flash video game made by Bottlerocket Entertainment in 2008. When our publisher Brash folded we were about 6 months into full production with about a year still to go on the game so please excuse the roughness of how it looks at this stage. A lot of the core elements were just starting to surface and we were all really saddened that the game couldn't be saved. This video shows off a good chunk of the early production work on Central City. It also gives a good example of the various tricks Flash could pull off as well as really showcase the running speed we were shooting for. Enjoy!

The fastest speed in the game should of been like slow motion or something indicating that he's so fast everything around him seems slow . This game would look amazing with the graphics we have today . Too bad it got cancelled .

I'd like to see a flash game where you can activate that "Sherlock Holmes fighting prediction" thing from the Robert Downey Jr movie when approaching villains or crossing dangerous terrain in slow motion, then when you run to the end it'll show you everything in real time.

Well... guess I have a new form of masochism. Watching this video over and over, knowing that it's most likely that there won't be a Flash video game like this one.

That's honestly a huge shame that the company went under mid development for this game. There aren't a whole lot of great superhero games, really Batman Arkham and the Spiderman games are the only series that comes to mind that has a really successful superhero game, and that's just because they managed to get Batman just right, while a lot of past superhero games didn't really capture the essence of the hero like they should've. A lot of superhero games tend to leave out an open world and just stick to a linear path like in the Deadpool game, but every superhero game should have an open world with their respective city. Linear paths don't fit the superhero mold that well at all. But this game, even for only having 6 months or so in development time, looks like it would've done as well as, if not better than, the Batman Arkham series. I hope someone decides to make a game for the Flash in the future and if they ever do, would be able to nail the speed mechanic on the head just like you guys did. Maybe Rocksteady will consider making all the superhero games, given their success with Batman Arkham. They don't need a while trilogy + origins for them all, maybe just a game or two per hero or one giant Justice League game. I feel like Rocksteady really could perfect any and all superhero video games, so long as they can get the right tone for each of them and not reuse the survival night formula like in all the Arkham games (because really, only Batman is THAT dedicated to crime fighting that he'd only rest AFTER taking everyone out in a single night).

@Rashawn Raysor  I'm always willing to share whatever info I can.  To answer the new questions:
1.  The Speed Force was going to be tracked on a meter.  The player would have built the meter through running and fighting.  We had plans to have certain moves cost a certain percentage of that meter and the moves available would change depending on whether it was running combat or standing combat.  So like bullet time would cost the least amount and could be used multiple times on a full meter and Infinite Mass Punch would have cost the most and would have only been available with a full meter.  A lot of the other core moves Flash could do would have been part of his combos in combat.  So you wouldn't have to tap into the Speed Force to do everything speed related, we just wanted it for the epic stuff.  We had only just begun to implement it so changes would most likely have happened but that was the starting plan.
2.  As for Boss Fights they can get pretty detailed and some were planned to be running combat and others had standing combat and many were a mix of both.  I'll try to break down a basic one like the Captain Cold fight.  In that one, Captain Cold has just finished robbing a bank and was escaping in a vehicle.  Flash would catch up to the vehicle and try to do enough damage to it to force it off the road.  Captain Cold and his minions would be shooting out of the truck making freezing patches on the road that could cause Flash to slip and crash or making barricades he had to run around.  So Flash had to find openings in the attacks where he could catch up to the truck and do damage to it.  Once it was damaged enough it was going to crash and things would transition into a hand to hand fight.  Cold would activate a bomb that was going to explode in a few minutes and Flash had to take him down before the timer ran out.  Cold would have integrated a bit of Weather Wizard's tech into his own and was going to create a swirling ice shield around himself that Flash had to break through in order to defeat him.  Flash could have used various attacks or even thrown minions into it to weaken the field.  Once Flash had punched an opening in the shield he just had to time it right to dash in through the opening and then could fight Cold directly.  It was a bit more complicated than all this, but that is the gist of it.

after seeing the new spiderman game trailer i really thought of this, the flash with a sort of arkham knight would be sooo cool, i so extremely sad too ser that you ran out of finance for the game, i really do think this would be a big big game, especially with all thats going on with the cw show and how big it has gotten, anyways, i hope there is even a small chance this game might come out, id fully support it 🖒

@Christopher: The music is called Half Pipe by Huma Huma. It's one of the free music tracks provided by You Tube.  They actually have a pretty decent library of really good music.

Aw man, why the heck this was cancelled? It looked absolutely It could be The Flash's own "Ultimate Destruction"(you pretty much can do everything the Hulk does in that game)!!!
