Sixteen year-old Nisha lives a double life. At home with her family she is the perfect Pakistani daughter, but when out with her friends, she is a normal Norwegian teenager. When her father catches her in bed with her boyfriend, Nisha's two worlds brutally collide. To set an example, Nisha's parents decide to kidnap her and place her with relatives in Pakistan. Here, in a country she has never been to before, Nisha is forced to adapt to her parents' culture.

The title Is so accurate, like every Asian/African parang has told their child “what will people say if you do that”.

I just realised what a world of a difference it makes to rope in actors who speak the native language correctly right upto the pronounciation. Suddenly...the movie feels so much more believable.

The title hits hard, lohg kyah khengeh 😔 I live in a first world country with Pakistani immigrant parents but I am so lucky that they are a perfect mixture between conservative and liberal. They raised me well to understand and respect my religion and culture as well as learn to accept others. We treat each other as friends and that’s how we learn to gain trust in each other.

I can painfully relate to many of these scenes with my life, including coming to a third world country and trying to adapt after adapt and the cultural shocks after shocks that you tend to go through before you find a balance between yourself- both your Who else can relate to this tralier?

I find this one of the kickass trailers I have seen.. it kind of showcase the mentalities of the people.. the girl in the school says not your parents but your culture.. it depicts how those girls are bounded into that kind of thinking

i don’t think this represents only Pakistani or just brown kids it represents kids who have strict parents and expect them to be perfect and it’s usually like that with Muslim families most Muslim families expect their kids to be perfect but they don’t understand that we’re human, nobody is perfect. Parents worry about what other people would say if you do this especially if you’re strict about religion and parents forget about what the kid wants

Adil Hussain sir a massive massive personality. Met him once he is just very very underrated . Its good he is involved Hollywood movies coz in India talents are not harnessed properly
