2015 WWD - Symposium - Tuula Moilanen

Japanese sakura (cherry blossom) that blooms in spring time is renowned for its splendid beauty, as well as the application of its trunk. Dr. Tuula Moilanen in her presentation introduced sakura trunk made Ukiyoe (Pictures of the Floating World) from the perspectives of history and culture. Ukiyoe capturing the evanescent moments of life is doubtlessly a treasure of Japanese culture.
