I have all these. I cannot get a diagnosis in North Dakota. It's ruining my life.

I have had all of these all my life, plus managed to raise two boys who had all of these symptoms. 😢 And I've beaten myself up everyday for not being "perfect" - even after teaching high school for 25 years And raising those two boys. Now in retirement stuck with 30+ years of debilitating fibromyalgia and treatment resistant depression and anxiety on top of everything else, it doesn't seem possible that I have an iota of survival skill in me left at my age, or that I could possibly be ADHD - but I have been diagnosed with it. Sometimes it seems like a cruel joke. And sometimes I feel like maybe I'm the strongest person in my tiny little world. There aren't many people in it, which is fine, because I can't handle much and I've left my toxic family of origin behind and all the people I once worked with behind. I think I prefer my life - my world - very small since COVID happened. It seems more manageable, somehow. But, just when my mind starts to race - which is all day everyday because I don't take meds because nothing is effective - my small world suddenly seems very lonely indeed, and as though most people wouldn't understand anyway. Thank goodness for my eldest son, though. He's a lovely person... his ASD doesn't stop him, and I'm proud of him that he has a full-time job as a librarian and that he enjoys reading to young children as part of his duties. He's a happy man. That's a very good thing. 🙂

PS In my days as a rubber stamper, I collected and made art with over 2K art rubber stamps, and carved over 200 of my own design. Now they collect dust, which in and of itself, is also a collection - dust bunnies. 😐... 🤣

My son, daughter, and I rely on my non-autistic, yet neurodivergent in other ways, wife as our executive function and object locator. I'm just glad she has a sense of humor about it.
