Since November 2012, SMRT has embarked on a track maintenance project on the North-South and East-West Lines to improve our train networks for the 2.8 million commuters riding our trains every day.

The programme replaces existing timber sleepers with concrete ones that will last much longer, for up to 50 years. Learn more about it!

My friend once told me that she is a heavy sleeper. The first thing I thought of is track sleepers.

Why Not do what New York City does in which other worldwide cities have copied and do. Close a Section on Friday Night and Re-Open it Monday morning. During weekend, Work is Done 24/7 so you are Not changing 30-40 sleepers in 90 min but in Minimum 48hr period you could change 960-1280 Sleepers! Use shuttle buses for Sector closed during weekend.
