Great video, Julia! By the way, when I first started following you, there were 47, 000 followers. You’re now near that 100K mark!!! I knew you’d be there in no time! Awesome job!! And well deserved!!

Wow, that dynamic range on the Sony body is actually really impressive. Thanks for comparing both the mark 3 body to the a3. I've not long started out photography myself, it is really enjoyable just going out capturing images. I'm starting out on a 200d, not very high end, but it can get good quality shots if you know what you're doing with it. It's a process to fully understand and get to grips with how your camera works, and I am using manual mode, so I have full control. Also thanks for the all the informative vids, I picked up a 50mm because of your video on it, it works wonders with portrait shots.

Well done Julia! I always find it interesting how Canon users are so impressed with the Dynamic Range on the Sonys because it's always been a thing on Nikons

Trust me, your 50mm is not working as good as the 35mm because of the Metabones, I own the Sigma MC11 converter and works better than the Metabones, the difference is huge, at least in my case, the MC11 is cheaper and better. Try it. I use it on my a7iii with Canon lenses. 😎👍

Amazing review Julia! Thanks for this. I'm interested in seeing a tutorial on removing it minimizing flare as I often run into the issue :(

Great video Julia, you come across as being very honest and unbiased, and it's very refreshing to see a DSLR shooter using a mirrorless camera and not complaining it's not a DSLR :) Like the fact that you support the lens with the left hand and the total package is significantly lighter than the same lens on a big heavy DSLR body, exactly like you pointed out. That's what I have always thought as well, the balance is fine since you're holding the lens with your other arm, net effect is just lighter package in total. Really wish you would get your hands on a A7R3 with Zeiss 35 1.4 and Zeiss 50 1.4. For your style that should be a really good setup, also LCD and EVF is better on the A7R3 than the A73, you get the best of both worlds with that. That said I think the colors are probably a tad better out of the camera for the A73, skin tones especially. Looking forward to your next video, cheers!

Thank you for the video.
I'd love to see you do a review on putting native Sony lenses vs Canon lenses on the A7iii camera, particularly their differences on micro contrast and macro contrast.

Hi Julie, love your videos and insights. 💕 I was just wondering if there is and color differences using Canon and Sony GM lenses? I’m slowly switching over to Sony. I have the 24mm and 50mm GM but would like to keep my Canon 35mm 1.4 II to use on both systems. Thanks 😊

Coming from the Canon camp, the switch to the new Sonys A7 bodies is a no brainer. I'm just recently switch from my old Canon 7D to the new Sony A7III and still using my L-series lenses + the sigma mc11 adapter. What a treat. And the Sonys eye AF is so easy to shoot with. Tac sharp images!!

Awesome video Julia :) I'm also a Canon Shooter from the very beginning and have just purchased my 1st Sony a7 III the other day to use for weddings and portrait work. I can't wait to give it a real go soon. Just been shooting test stuff atm. I am also using an adapter, the Sigma Mc 11 and so far I'm impressed too with the colours and fast focusing. Keep up the great content hun :)

Julia, it's a pity you never used Canon 5D Mark IV. You would not be so surprised of dynamic range (the difference between 5D4 and A73 is negligible and 5D4 is even lighter than 5D3). Now you compared camera from 2012 with camera from 2018.

The talk about the mc11 is true. I've swapped from the MB to the mc-11 and have far less issues with canon lenses. Sometime I have to change from Flexi spot small to Flexi spot medium for my Canon 135. Maybe try that first but if its still an issue with the 50mm get the mc11!
