If you haven't hit the BELL next to the subscribe button could you please do so?

If you could pick between these cameras, which one would you pick and why?

Purchased the A7III based on price and the want of going full frame. Features were a HUGE bonus for me. 👊🏻

When I was growing up, my father and I had a deep bond over our love for photography and geeking out about cameras. Whenever I would return home after having flown the nest he would show me all the cameras, lenses and accessories he had bought (usually on eBay) that he'd fixed up and planned to one day sell. He would always reference your videos and would often say, with great joy and all sorts of hand gestures that so-and-so camera or lens was favoured by "Fro Knows Photos".
He died two years ago and I have since inherited all of his cameras - mainly DSLRS and a few vintage film cameras. I've been shooting with his Nikon d800 a lot since then but just somehow just today stumbled across the A7III as a means to capture some better video for my channel. In my search for information on the camera, I found your channel again. When you said 'Fro Knows Photos" at the beginning of this video I was instantly taken back to many happy memories of my father and it brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat.
He was so fond of your channel Jared and not only has this video helped me decide that I am going to make the move to mirrorless but in a totally unplanned move you've made me feel very close to my father whom I miss very much.
Thank you ♥

ive been using the a7riii for pretty much anything since i got it. Events, baseball games, portraits. It just kills it every time and still really clean at 12800 iso

I'd definitely go with the a7III for my shooting purposes. I do a lot of night shooting and could benefit from that ISO capability. Thanks for the review Jared!

The wind tunnel test was the best and most important part of the video.

I prefer my a7riii because as a wildlife photographer I like to be able to crop a lot without loosing too much quality !

I really like the side by side spec comparison that you provide in your videos. Excellent job.

A7Riii = landscape and/or large prints. A7iii = literally everything including video, minus massive prints. A9 = sports. /thread.

I've just picked up the A7R III today and took it out for a test spin. The main selling point for me is the 42 megapixel sensor with no aa filter, the pixel shift and the price point.

I have an A9 and am considering "downgrading" to the A7III simply because the A9 doesn't have slog. Which I don't understand?? I know the A9 is more of a photography camera, but it seems weird that a $4, 500 professional camera doesn't have slog like even the way less capable sony cameras like the a6300. (still a great camera, but just not even remotely as good as the A9)
Why did they not include slog? No idea. Will they add it? Probably not from what I've heard?

I got the A7RIII with 24-70 GM lens, took it to a trip to Japan and wow, I couldn't be more happier with my results.

This was a great run down the line of the Sony full frame cameras Jared. Thank you for doing this and keeping it objective. I particularly enjoyed your real world reviews of the Sony a9 and a7R III.

Who need 42 megapixel? Almost nobody. Even with a old 6 mp camera, you can print big posters if you don’t crop.

24 mp is a very high resolution if the picture is sharp. And those three cameras god a fantastic af without front or back focus as you se with nikon and canon. Even the Sony/Zeiss lenses for those cameras, are razor sharp wide open. Not all Nikon or canon lenses are like that. Even the standard 28-70 kit zoom, is amazing sharp.

I changed from Nikon. I shoot with the D4 and D800e and switched to the A9. First of all I don’t miss the 36 megapixel at all. I got more sharp images with my A9 then with any Nikon I ever used. It’s more important to me that the camera catch the focus, and the A9 do that for me every time. Before I switched system, I tried the D5 for a month and I found out that the A9 worked much better for me.

I much tell that the A9 is the best digital camera I ever had. And I also shoot digital Hasselblad with 39 mp in the past. The A9 can do everything everywhere and just does it better than anything else. The camera is not as big as the D4/D5 and that means freedom to be creative.

With the price of the A7III, you got a very flexible camera for almost no money. If you can’t make great shots with that, you are simply not a good photographer. You can do 98% of everything with that camera.

If you shoot Canon, simply buy the Sigma MC11 and you can use all your canon EF lenses without problems. I got both a 85mm f:1, 2L II and a sigma 24 f:1, 4 ART for EF mount (I also shoot analog with a Canon EOS 1v), and both those glass work perfect on my A9.. even better than on Canon!

Thanks Jared, very fair. I switched from Canon (after 40 years) and went to Sony in January 2017 and have never looked back. No camera system is perfect. I find my A7RIII (upgraded from A7RII) and my A7III perform splendidly for both my professional and personal use. Adding an A9 would be super. And don't forget the great IBIS and great Eye-AF of each. Cheers
