Many laws policies and dogma of jehovah's witnsses are based on a very subjective bible verse, but a surprising amount have absolutely no foudation in the bible that they claim to use for all aspects of their faith!

My JW wife divorced me for spiritual endangerment April 2018. She remarried barely 2 months later. She toured Warwick with her new husband about a month before remarrying. Their engagement was barely 60 days if that long. She is a pioneer and has not been DF'd or even had a judicial hearing. For those of you who think your wife won't divorce you for leaving the truth? You will be sadly mistaken. Me and my ex wife's relationship spanned over 15 years. It only took her a couple months to court, get to know and eventually marry her new husband. All while under the disguise of this so called "religion". They think membership has it's privileges. Unfortunately they are members of a cult. A cult that's going down in flames rapidly. Thanks to activist like us. Thanks Kevin. I needed that one.

My congregational rule experience (one of many)
I remember being 14-years of age and receiving counsel by my Group Elder regarding my vinyl single and album collection. It was 'strongly' suggested that i destroy albums by artists like E.L.O and Earth, Wind & Fire.
I ignored the advice.
A few months later, around the time of John Lennon's death, I witnessed the very same elder singing - as he drove his Ford Capri to the Sunday meeting - singing along to John Lennon's 'Imagine' as it played on the car stereo.
...Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try...
I sat there, quiet and dumbstruck.

I remember as a teenager when The Society was on a bender about “abnormal/depraved sexual acts” between married couples, seeking to impose and ENFORCE strict sexual practice in the private bedrooms of those married. Placing guilt trips and encouraging couples to rat each other out (aka openly confess to the elders). I knew a young married couple who were disfellowshipped for engaging in oral sex between themselves in the privacy of their own domain.
Some of us teenagers were also dragged into the back room and harshly chastised for getting together to play touch football after the meetings.
Imposing traditions and OPINIONS of men, twisting interpretations of scripture ! !

Brilliant! I'd love to know the source for the circumstantial evidence rule. That compromises every other rule regarding two witnesses and is damning. I remember my Mum, who was a fiercely loyal JW till she died, did mention to me once that there was a WT around 1970 that she called the 'the dirty Watchtower' because it described homosexual relationships in an empathetic light and she could never reconcile it until she heard later that one of the GB/writing committee was disfellowshipped; that gave her some relief but it should have confirmed to her that these GB members are not directed by God and are just a bunch of blokes in charge of a very big corporation. I'm so glad that I picked up on the warning signs and got out 20 years ago.

What a well researched presentation! It made me think how insulting it is to be given so many rules covering every possible eventuality. It insults the intelligence of followers and it denies them the opportunity to exercise their individual consciences. Whatever happened to following principles? What happen to me .I sat in a worldly mans flat which was the next-door guy to me .. I made friends with him, I went in and had a cup of tea and bake beans as I was very poor at the time with the front door wide open and a jw came in who lived on the same street and saw she reported me and so I met up later the next day with a so called another study lady who was teaching the watchtower bullshit at the time and her husband stood over me and in a evil voice said "you don't love Jehovah ! , you sat in a mans flat and bringing a bad name for Jehovah" .I tell you I nearly piss my pants, I was so frighten at the time ..and his wife is one who said if I was abused child she tell the bothers not the police .evil , evil people !
