This is definitely another one I relate to. My bf asks about my daughter more than her own father does. Before we even thought about dating, he would go out of his way for her. She has an ileostomy because of a rare intestinal disease, and he had an ileostomy because of cancer. She ran out of supplies one time and he literally rushed over to bring her his old supplies until I could get more. And now, he's there for her always. He's been to every game, recital, anything important. Her dad's never been to anything of hers. She danced for years, played soccer for years, and now plays the violin and sings, and has literally ignored her the entire time. She now knows that me, my mom and aunt, and my aunt's daughter and grand daughter, and my bf are the ones who show up for her. The good ones prove they want to be there.

My mom and i have been through her having to be abused and me having to watch and be locked in my room aswell as get whipped with a belt for trying to protect my mom but when i turned six we moved away and 6 years later my mom met her old crush as a kid and they are now dating and at first i didnt trust him and i was scared when they went on dates but i saw how much they love eachother just by the look in their eyes when they see eachother and how he acts with me and my sister. Im happy my mom found a guy who treats her right

I love this so much!! I went through the same thing, abusive marriage and relationship 15 years straight. 2 kids. Then met an amazing man who saved us💕 the trauma is definitely there and I have my moments. But he makes everything so much better❤️ So happy for you!!!
