I don't know if you've beaten him yet, but for V2, you'll have to match with his play style. Try to learn how to dodge(or parry) his moves first. When I first beat him, I was using the pump shotgun and switching between the two mods of the nail gun while aggressively dodging and charging at him.
There could be better tips online tho because I'm not really an expert
