White Guys Buy Stuff Together in Perfect Chinese, Shock Locals

My friend Evan and I, two white guys who speak extremely good Mandarin and some Cantonese, went grocery shopping in NYC Chinatown the other day. We walked up to various Chinese vendors, started speaking with them in English, and then switched over mid-conversation to Mandarin and Cantonese. Their reactions were hilarious! I don't think you understand the impact you're having with these people. You are showing them many of us respect their culture and by their faces you can easily tell they are so happy to hear you speak their native language. Mad respect but things like this show people of other cultures that many of us do respect them.
