I have never worn items with logos - simply because I don't want to walk around with someone else's name on me. Bottega Veneta handbags have never advertised the brand. My one and only black handbag came from them 25 years ago. I've just realised today that its shape is now trendy 😅

Your advice is universal and common sense for women of ALL ages! ❤😊

My mother was a fine seamstress. She was fanatic about the pattern on material matching at the seams. No one seems to care now. But I still can't buy clothes with uneven plaids or stripes. Mom always said it was a sign of poor quality.

I love how you’re sprinkling phrases in French throughout your videos; nicely done in a really seamless way!
The emphasis on buying quality pieces really resonates; I shop A LOT at thrift and vintage, and have gotten many silk blouses and cashmere sweaters - for not a lot of $$$.

I don't buy leggings unless it is for my workouts. I never bought distressed jeans and never will. Your tips are always helpful. I always try to put quality over quantity. I learned that late in life.

When I go shopping I always have your voice in my head: if it's not a wow, it's a non.
We had a "designer" here that sold expensive clothes that were so cheaply made, it's no wonder they don't exist anymore.

I've always held to quality over quantity. Owning more means more to take care of.Frugality is not the same as being cheap. I finally found a shade of green (deep forest) that looks great on me, that doesn't turn my olive complexion green. It is now part of my year round capsule. I am glad to see certain styles that I always preferred, like pleated pants making a comeback. I never wore skinny jeans.

Thank you so much for addressing the huge logo on clothing pieces. We should not be billboards! Sleek simple yes yes yes!

This is great sound advice applicable for all ages, Marie-Anne. My niece has been learning and improving due to your videos as well, she's only young in her 20s loving French Chic and I'm thankful for that. Merci beaucoup 🤗❤

I have learned a lot from you, Marie-Anne and you reinforce things I want to remember. I admire your sense of style, positive attitude and enjoy it when you speak your native French. 💕 Be well!

A young acquaintance of mine bought a very gently used London Fog coat @ a thrift store for about $40. That's high quality at a low price and she'll get many compliments and years of use of it.

I never buy clothing made of polyester, nylon, rayon, etc. Although they're becoming difficult to find and at a much higher price, I buy silk, cashmere, wool, cotton and linen. I just cannot stand the idea and the feel of wearing plastic. I love opening YouTube and finding a new post by you. Thank you for all of your knowledge and advice ❤.

Definitely more focused on pieces that fit well and are higher quality. I also stick with a proper neckline that doesn’t reveal too much.

Great advice. I never buy distressed clothing, anything with logos, and have never owned a basball cap. I love pretty, beautiful, elegant, styish, colourful and simple.

Truth to be told I am still wearing pieces I bought 15 years ago. I always look for good fabrics, meticulously tailored and sewn. Most of them I bought at the end of the season. I don‘t have any favourite brands. It totally depends on what I am going to detect on my hunt. Whenever there is nothing peaking my interest, I call it a day. My only soft spot are white shirts. I have to remind me that I already have way too many, that and indigo blue linen shirts (my favourite during summer).

I've been looking forward to this and I meant this video, dear Marie-Anne! Loved it. You're absolutely right. I'm so grateful to have been raised learning many of these principles and also from mistakes I made in the past. Loved to see more gorgeous older ladies. I appreciate all your wonderful content and including French phrases in your videos is a great bonus. Your hair is looking lovely. Merci beaucoup pour votre conseil formidable comme toujours ❤

My favorite 2 pieces were hand down from my aunt and father. I have a Norwegian made wool sweater of high quality from my aunt. I have a highly tailored smoking jacket from my dad. Both pieces are so chic!
