I'm glad they still renewed his contract and cast the same balrog in rings of power. He seems to have lost some weight though from his appearance in LOTR😂

The balrog is fucking amazing. The real difference I noticed was his wings of shadow and dark cloud. You can hate on the show all you want but the balrog was epic asf

Best scene of the entire show for me. The light and noise of the Balrog approaching was so eerie.

I just wish there was more of it, they’ve teased the Balrog for 2 full seasons and we got this 5 minute scene.

Makes you realize how badass it must've been to see all seven Balrogs guarding Morgoth's throne/fighting in the fall of Gondolin, riding dragons into the city.

Peter Jackson and his team made such a great job at designing the Balrog that the show and most video games use almost the same design. I know Peter Jackson's lotr is not canon, but this look for the Balrog should definitely be canon

i didn't like king durin because he was arrogant but in his death i moved to tears because he understood his mistake to fell on the ring and sacrifice his life for the other dwarves

Too bad the the Balrog doesn't roar like the old LotR one did, That roar in the old one made it so much more intimidating. like a raging hot furnace, you can see the heat.

They didn't have to dig very deep! The Balrog was in the adjoining room, separated by one foot of wall!

After this, the Balrog called it for the day and the dwarves were able to send an army to Eregion and have a peaceful memorial for the dead king.

They have the dwarves holding a casual family meeting about throne ascension like an hour before a 30’ tall fire demon didn’t just atomize there King and is now just roaming free in the basement🤷🏽‍♂️

The artist team really threw their all into this, the Balrog really does look stunning and vividly artistic! However, the Balrog from 23 years ago looks just photorealistic, like the creature was genuinely there, it was just top level perfection. RoP gets a strong A-, Fellowship did A++, both teams of artists did magnificent work rendering one of fantasy’s most nightmarish monsters.
