“Allegedly this is a hobby that I like” 😂 The only correct way to feel about adding the finishing touches on garments. Love your podcast!

Oh I’m so glad I found your channel Ali! My Dad also watches all of my videos. I was floored when he asked me one day if I had swatched for my new sweater. And he reads all of my comments and responds to anyone who mentions him. It’s so sweet.

I’m an outside pull gal. But I still get yarn barf at the end. You’re right there is no good way.

Looking forward to more episodes!!

PS… Hi, Ali’s Dad!!!

The best end to choose on the yarn ball is the opposite of whatever one you actually used. Every single time.

I love that your nephew is your YouTube guru, adorable. Your cardigan looks fantastic. And your family's response is so sweet! Good luck with your first five pages. Just to get seen is such a feat, and having a fan base is also going to help you. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚

Use 2 - 16 inch circular needles for your sleeves. I also use 2 - 16 inch circulars for knitting socks.

I truly enjoyed your podcast. Knitting and reading just go together. They are two things that can be done on a cold, rainy/snowy day in front of the fireplace that make us feel snuggled in and relaxed.

The yarn pull conundrum… I go with the flow. If I can easily pull center, I will. If I pull from outside, I will go till things
get messy and will find end and hand roll or start with fussy yarn in a plastic sandwich baggy. First I cut a little hole in corner, feed end through and seal top.

You are very entertaining to listen to while I sew or knit. I missed about half of what you said because you speak so fast, but it was fun! I love that your nephew/manager is 8 years old and is brilliantly discerning about his favourite knitting podcasts 😃

Tell Chase, you got more one more subscriber!!! LOL Your sister should come on and you should teach her knitting on camera. I asked my husband to do that, and he emphatically said NO. Love your podcast, Rosie from Toronto.

I’m a 100% with you. I am a monogamous knitter. I only buy yarn and a pattern when I’m in the home stretch of a current project. Exceptions for buying a skein to swatch for my next project to see if it will work. And I have the occasional small project for portability.

I generally pull from the center, but Maggie Righetti wrote in “Knitting in Plain English” to slide your thumb and index finger along the yarn. One direction is smoother because of the plaques on the wool. You should knit with the smoother direction. Sometimes that’s from the outside.

for the rolling around issue you could try putting each ball in their own plastic baggie(gallon size) and set them in a large bag or basket on the floor while working. This is the budget method I like!!

Knitting should be fun.

What a joy it was to come across your channel in my feed! I am also an Ontarian. I hail from 2.5 hrs South-West of Toronto. Your content is so very relatable, as I too began knitting not long ago and am now stuck in deep and adore it.
Looking very forward to the next video!

First time viewer and new subscriber here. I hope this makes your new YouTube manager (AKA nephew) very happy.

I keep thinking about your grandma who can no longer knit. Have you (or she) ever considered a knitting machine? I don’t own one myself, but from the videos I’ve watched, they’re a fun and reasonably inexpensive way for people with dexterity issues to continue making things! (I believe the Sentro is approximately US $60.) Obviously, there’s going to be a learning curve, but if kids can learn to use them, I’m sure your grandma could too! Just a thought.

You popped up on my feed this morning, glad you did. Canadian here too, about an hour and a half west of Toronto. So, laughing because people are right, dang, we all talk fast! Yes, a knitter, and a bookworm as well so awesome. Also smiling, books are colour coded aren’t they? My daughter’s mother-in-law called the other day to say she wanted to drop of her mother-in-laws unused wool. I could go through it and pick whatever and give away the rest. So you know it’s vintage, cool. But, literally 3 rain barrels size drums 😂 and I already have a notable stash as I knit for myself, family, and markets. So I guess I too will be knitting until I die😂

Hi! Just found you! Pulling….girl, pull for I’m the outside! Inside = yarn barf. I put my yarn in a basket or bowl and let it spaz around in there. Also, an unpopular opinion, I will wind my yarn and silk mohair together before knitting. I am a relatively tight knitter. Love your sweater and the color is everything.
