Neeraj Chopra’s mother celebrates Olympic Silver; praises Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem for bagging Gold

In a heart-warming gesture that transcended borders, Neeraj Chopra’s mother’s comments about Men’s Javelin Throw Gold winner, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, won the admiration of fans. Proud mother Saroj Devi equated Neeraj’s Silver to Gold and also celebrated her son’s win with family members. Speaking to ANI, Saroj Devi said, “We are very happy, for us silver is also equal to gold...he was injured, so we are happy with his performance. The one who won the gold [Nadeem] is also my child. They all work hard to get there.”

I would happily admit even if I wanted neeraj to win gold, while watching arshad throw, I couldnt wish arshad to not do well, infact was expecting him to deliver equally well. Because we south Asians know what all struggles these people had to go through just to be there, unlike their western counterparts. And God has to reward them for that.
