PS4 HOW TO FIX SCRATCHED OR NOT WORKING GAME DISC. GTA 5 SOLVED 2023

In case you didn't hear me clearly, I'm gonna explain it much easier here. This error has nothing to do with your disc unless you can physically see that it's damaged. If not DO NOT do the tooth paste method or those sort of things. In my case I wanted to play GTA Auto 5, so I tried to put it in and install it for the first time. Then I got this error. The only option was to remove disc and close application so I did and when I put GTA Auto 5 back in my console It stuck at the same percent every time. ( most likely because removing the disc during the installation corrupted the installation process). So here's how I fixed it. Delete your app and remove your game, restart your PS4 and put the game that your having this problem with in. Start application without downloading the updates. ( if you get an error CE-3005-8 ) ignore this, just quit the game and start it back up till the game starts to install. Leave it installing if you get the error ( DIRTY DISC OR IS DAMAGED ETC.) DO NOT CLICK REMOVE DISC! it will not effect your game installation, leave it on that screen for a few hours or however long you think it will take your game to install. Think of that screen as some sort of TEMPORAL SCREEN SAVER! I promise you it won't effect your installation process. Once a good hour or 2 passes, hold down your PS button on your controller for about 3 seconds and then select "POWER, ENTER INTO REST MODE" .Start it back up and go right into the game. it will go right back into installing the game the proper way once you turn your PS4 on from rest mode. It works perfectly and runs like a champ.

Step 1: open the game
Step 2: wait till untill it shows "close
application and remove disc"
Step 3: dont click on it just let that run for about 1 to 2 hours
Step 4:put your ps4 on rest mode from quick menu

I like how whenever this happens with gta, the game is actually still running perfectly in the background. I remember playing a heist setup I hosted with my friends and suddenly I got the error message, I told them and thankfully they managed to deliver the heist equipment while I was stuck in the screen. This shows that Sony gives no fucks anymore.

WORKED FOR ME IN 2021. Not a bot when you put it in rest mode and go back to the game the blue screen would pop up again just put it in rest mode then turn it back on then restart your PS4 it would work 100%. All of work but it’s the solution

I know I’m late to the party but the fix actually works. I deleted my gta a few weeks ago then I felt the urge to play it once more. So I tried to install it and when it got to 12% the ps 4 would make a weird noise then the disk would stop spinning and the blue screen would appear. So I tried this method 2 times. First time when the blue screen appeared I left like that for 2 hrs came back and put the ps on rest mode for a few seconds then turned it back on. Lol it did not work so I gave up. Second time I tried this I left it on the blue screen for 4-5 hrs. When I came back I could hear the music that plays when installing the game playing in the background mind you the game was still showing the blue screen. So I put the ps on rest mode again, turned it on and voila it the game started loading up in the story mode. It actually works so just be patient.

@KasaMusik My Problem was "the data of the following application is corrupted" I ignored the message and waited for 2 hours for the installation process of GTA 5 as you said. Then i went to rest mode and did as you say and VOILA it had fiished installing and the message that was showing the error disappeared. I played Prologue and it had no problem. To be honest I thought it was not going to work but it did. You actually came in clutch . Thank you soo much
