Been using the screw to manually insert and eject discs on original PS4 for probably two years now. It's the only issue I've had with it since I bought it back in 2014 so I can't really complain.

Finally a guide where it isn't complex or confusing. Most of the time when I want to fix a certain problem with my ps4 there are tutorials where they say what to do without actually showing how to do it or they show it but they usually don't bring the camera up close to show how they're fixing the problem and then all you see is the just there arm

It WORKED!!! Turning the ps4 off, holding it vertical, turn on, press eject (IT WORKED, DISK CAME OUT!), turn off put it back horizontal. Accepts disk fine now. THANK YOU SO MUCH! This really worked! AWESOME!

I had this model of PS4.
All constant power surges damaged my PS4 and it doesn't work anymore.

Before that happened the damage was that it kept ejecting my disc for no reason or powering my console off, like if someone was pressing the buttons.

Then sometimes touching the buttons wouldn't even start my PS4 or eject my disc.

And after it broke entirely down.
I had my Overwatch PS4 game stuck.

I thought I lost it.
I didn't wanted to let it go. Since I thought there was a way I could retrieve the game. A lot of time passed since then, and then I got this video in the recommendations.

And it saved my Overwatch disc!!
So I really appreciate this!

I've always fixed this problem with a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Just slide the q-tip across the slot until you hear the rollers engage. Keep it there a few seconds to clean the rollers, wait a couple minutes for it to dry and you're usually good to go!

I believed this was a silly solution, just place the ps4 vertical... but it is actually the only solution that makes it read the disc again every time. So thank you for this!

This happened to me a year ago and the disc wouldn’t eject so I had to manually eject it and then the whole system broke down and I had to buy a new ps4
