Compatibility with games, drivers, hardware apps that are windows only and wine doesn't help. Easier to install exes than package managers and figure out programs that don't support your distro. Linux is absolutely amazing and I love it, but it still it's not proprietary and not a necessity

If it wasn't for the fact that alot of audio plugins have issues running on linux/don't have support I would definitely just switch over to linux. I'll definitely dual boot though.

- Lack of explanations for beginners: Linux (I can't count the amount of times people expect you to know something out of nowhere when you just switched your OS),

I still like Linux for what it is. It's so efficient and doesn't come with Bloatware 😅

Gaming is very even between the two. Linux sometimes gets better performance especially on lower end hardware, but there are like 4 games that purposely only work on Windows.

The main reason people buy computers this days is gaming
And Windows is also free, Microsoft gives for free ways to install windows, they just have the activate windows watermark and don't let you customize
When people see that watermark, they mostly think that the Windows was pirated but it is Microsoft who makes that version avaliable to download
