The engineer "Valery Khodemchuk" who they briefly mention "We should warn him about the pipes jumping" was instantly killed when the reactor exploded. Sadly his body was never able to be recovered and is permanently entombed under reactor 4.

The actor that played Dyatlov, Paul Ritter, died in 2021 from a brain tumor.

In the end, it was incompetence and corruption that caused the Chernobyl disaster

Interestingly it was the international inquiry into this that created the term 'safety culture, ' because never before was such a thing so damagingly absent!

Dyatlov's gaslighting made my blood boil almost every time he was on screen.

There is so much to learn from this series and from other events around the world. Sadly, the culture of lying and deflecting will continue, because it’s in our nature. You can’t get away from it.

In real life dyatlov was one of the first people to realise that the reactor had exploded and he only once raised his voice when turbine testing crew weren’t going to leave the turbine hall because of their orange Mercedes truck

Many of the Soviets' issues across industries were caused by a measley pay scale that awarded quantity over quality.

Dyatlov (the character) pisses me off because not once did he stop staring down his nose at people even after he doomed thousands and nearly poisoned all of Europe

"Unfinished Task Attention" kills a lot of people with OCD. THEY CAN'T INTEGRATE NEW DATA, ALL THEY SEE IS THEIR BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, COMPLETED TASK.
