As a conductor and classical musician, it was quite an accurate depiction of a conductor. Remember, if you buy a baton on Amazon, you are fucking around. Those are complete crap from my experience. I loved the references to real musicians/orchestras.

Tar is in need of editing. The beginning of the film dragged: the opening credits. There were several scenes that went on too long: the first, interview at The New Yorker; the next, a restaurant scene. An implausible scene later on during an orchestra performance. Cate Blanchett and her supporting actresses were excellent.

Watched it tonight and my main issue right now was the ending. I was captivated by 90% of it but then I felt like the ending just falls flat. As the credits rolled I was like "wait...that's it?".

i hate that i’m about to say this cuz it’s gonna make me look like a simpleton, but my ass was bored to tears watching this. it felt like i was watching a narrative podcast and/or being lectured at by a college professor. am i the only one that felt that way? i’m seeing all the reviews and i feel like i’m taking crazy pills
