My wife and I saw TÁR last night at an advanced screening and we are still talking about it this afternoon--absolutely stunning in every meaning of the word, and in every scene, and of course, by the constant presence of Cate Blanchett in almost every frame. This is one for the ages. What we both found interesting is that several of the scenes in this teaser were not in the final cut of the movie. At more than 2 and a half hours, maybe some were cut for length. We would love to see a director's cut of the movie. Go see the movie as soon as you can!

Cate Blanchett does not shy away from small indie movies to art pieces like Manifesto (where she played 13 different unique characters!). She always strives for true art. No wonder she brings out so much complexity and depth with layered performances each time as she walks the fine line between theatricality and subtlety. Which is something really hard to achieve, especially by today's actresses like Jennifer Lawrence, Emma stone, Margot Robbie, Zendeya etc who are mainstream but hardly for their acting talent.
People often compare Ms Blanchett to another legend Meryl Streep. Cate is not next Meryl Streep, she's league of her own. Most versatile and legendary actress there is.

Just saw it with a friend today. An absolute and unconventional masterpiece. By far Blanchett’s best performance and far outdoes her performance in Blue Jasmine. I do hope there’s a director’s cut of Tár because there’s actually a substantial amount of stuff in this trailer that isn’t in the final film and almost suggest the film to have a different tone altogether. Nevertheless, the final cut is still amazing!!

I have read the article claiming how great movie this is. Todd’s directing for this film is uncompromising and very Kubrickian. This real art piece won’t please the masses as it does not spoon feed you, it’s a completely immersive experience. This film is going to be standout among cinema lovers for sure and for best actress wise this is cate Blanchett’s movie. They have claimed her to be awards front runner…

Anything related to Focus Features is truly of groundbreaking cinematic quality. From all the shots in different angles, intense performances, and overall score, it’s sure to make you drop to your knees. Cate Blanchett is undeniably phenomenal as an actress. Every role, she practically gets the assignment right. Good for her.

Loved this movie but it was totally different from the trailer- with about a third of the images shown not actually showing up in the film. It seemed that many of the most artistic pieces got cut for the sake of the plot, which left a lot of drier parts, with slow dialogue to hold their own. Cate is brilliant and the film was good. Just wanted to give folks the heads up— this is a suspenseful, slightly scary movie, with many very slow extended conversations- not the creative whirlwind of color and sound that the trailer portrays. It’s beauty is more austere and unsettling.
