I don't get it.
Why are race, sex or religion relevant to the point at all? Isn't the whole beauty of music, its capacity to transcend any and all barriers and differences? Isn't the the magic or music, its capacity to reach across cultural and ideological differences?

The question being posed here, sounds like an unnecessary politicisation of the topic. Although I haven't watched the film yet, so I'm probably missing a bigger context to the scene.
