Haha I can identify with this so much. I'm 33 years and just got into motorcycles a year ago. Riding my own Interceptor 650 since 3 months now in and around Berlin /Germany. I put 4500km on it since that including a 2600km motorbike tour through the whole of Germany in 12 days together with my girlfriend as a pillion. Seriously this bike did it all for us. Up and down mountains, through forests with gravel roads and all of this fully loaded with side bags, fuel tank bag and a massive bagpack strapped behind my girlfriend. All of this worked perfectly for us. Every time we stopped the 60+ generation came up to us and initiated a conversation which was great. Happy to see more young people with a taste for these modern classics @FreeMilesMC

Had a GT 650 for 3 years. Brilliant bike. Only sold it because I moved to the Philippines. At your age, I was riding a Honda CX500. Similar HP to the Enfield, but shaft drive. Both are wonderful touring bikes.

I'm not a biker myself but I love the oldschool design of the Royal Enfields! If I ever get my license I'd also buy one!

I just passed my licensing class this weekend and plan on saving up for the same bike. Absolutely love everything about it.

I recently took a 3000 mile trip on my RE 650. Spent many hours riding in the rain, the bike never missed a beat. It's a very reliable touring bike.

I've had an Interceptor for 9 months and about 2, 400 miles. I'm still happy with it. It checks quite a few boxes for me: it looks *great*, it sounds great, gets great gas mileage (about 55-60mpg), it handles well, there's lots of aftermarket stuff. It'll cruise all day at 75mph no problem. Power and torque are plenty for most purposes. The brakes work fine, the ergonomics are fine. And it has a likeable personality.

But it's not a bike I'd want to ride to Alaska on. Or even 200 miles. The reason being that the suspension and seat are kind of stiff and cobby. Around town it's fine but it wouldn't be fun riding it all day long. That and the right mirror vibrates. Also, it's hard to impossible to read the digital gas display in bright sunlight. Those are my only complaints.

I've got four bikes in the garage and the Interceptor is my main squeeze.

Great video, I have same bike and surf too. I do my own servicing and it's proved to be reliable {12000miles). I remember seeing a surf rack on a bike for the first time back in the seventies, always fancied trying it but never did, so it's great to see you succeeding in your latest travel videos.
Good to see somebody younger being a bit unconventiona too, I love your honesty and how you are not afraid to show what a pain in the arse travelling in all weather's on a bike can be sometimes, also your surf footage is very much in line with how the surf is here in the UK, keep on keeping on ! 👍

Lots of people buy a brand new bike without ever having a used one. You paid your dues in breakdowns on the Yamaha for sure, well justified!

Congratulation on the new scoot. Nice to see you young guys staying away from the crotch rockets/cafe bikes. That tells me you wat to live into your This bike won't get you into the trouble and fill up the graveyards with youth and exuberance. Be safe and have a ball!!

So this is my third summer on a baker Express!
After ditching the seat the unbalanced Brazilian pirelli tires and a better battery I've had absolutely no issues!
I put a lot of modifications on it because that's just me. I made it into a cruiser before Royal Enfield came out with the super meteor cruiser. And I think I like mine better than theirs even though I haven't tried the super meteor yet!
I'll tell you one thing they did right for sure is that motor! The motor is put together like a Swiss watch and coupling it with a super smooth six-speed tranny what else can go wrong nothing! Nothing that matters because everything else is good. Some guys first thing they do is change the exhaust dude it's stainless steel and it sounds mellow...I like that. I don't really care for the loud pipes. The suspension and brakes are fine. Throw on a ranger windshield, relatively inexpensive and some handlebar risers, handguards, heated grips and she's a super capable cruiser. I should say "he" because I named him sleepy Joe after the president, because he gave me the down payment!
You will not regret owning this bike I guarantee!
PS I have a boat I named trumpy because he gave me the down payment for the boat it already capsized twice!

What a coincidence! The Royal Enfield Road Show made a stop near my hometown two days ago, so I had the opportunity to ride both the Continental GT and the Interceptor. While the Conti was a lot of fun, it directly put me into hooligan mode… aggressive riding position, nice sound, plenty of fun in the city. The Interceptor, however, is a totally different animal, although the bikes are technically almost identical. Relaxed riding position, same great engine and sound, comfortable and made for cruising. Can’t wait to see the new content from your next trip!

You definitely bought a beauty at a more than reasonable price, especially considering the touring extras. Have fun!

Had one, made 50.000 km in 2 Years.
Great bike, love the motor, but take care for rust, .
I'm a daily rider, summer and winter, and this bike definitely dont like the salty austrian roads in winter. But besides this you will have a great time with this bike!
And many talks with older guys 😉
