He hated bullies, became a police officer to stop bullying and ended up becoming the worst kind of bully. A tale as old as time. You become that which you loathe, that which you fixate upon. Forgiveness is the only solution

I served time with Ruben in Stafford Az. The testimony that he shares is authentic. Wether you can related to him or you agree with him he is giving you the truth l prayed with him walked the track with him he also gave me a pointers on my left hook. His story has not changed nor been embellished since I served time with him.

This man hated talking about his past sins and glorifying the life. The second he started talking about the new him and his new life, he lit up. Guy is genuine.

I really love that the interviewer doesn't keep interrupting the interviewee, like many others do.

The older I get, the more I hear and see, the more I feel I have had a guardian angel watching me. If you are a victim of childhood abuse (sex, physical, verbal, neglect, abandonment) we as adults continuously learn how this impacted us as children. I still get angry today, but I use the gift of life to work, exercise, eat well because I refuse to be a victim anymore the best thing I did was get an education (the best currency, no one can take it away from you). Thank you for your honesty, great interview.

Ruben changed the direction of my life. We met on several occasions at the Rampart Det station. I was an INS agent assigned to a violent gang task force. I was cleared of any wrongdoing but was sued (Bivens) because of you and your fellow officers actions. I spent the remainder of my fed career investigating corruption. You made all of our jobs and lives harder. Even those of us who did nothing wrong. I am sincerely glad you changed your life.

What an excellent story teller, straight to the point, great pace and very honest. Interviewer didn’t even have to ask a single question..

I really enjoyed this interview. So many take aways. Untreated trauma can truly make you become what you hate. Thank you so much Reuben for sharing your story.

One of the best SWU stories. Ruben needs to get this down on paper and then option it for a movie. Thank you!

Thank you!!! I am 45 and just realizing how much anger I have inside me, I grew up with an alcoholic abusive father who I know now really fucked my head up. And that's why I make choices I do. Thank you for explaining how you have to not let the people that hurt you control you. I am trying very hard now, with therapy to let that go. Thank you for your words.

Lots of love and respect to you Ruben. I worked with you, Cookie Monster, Banana, and the crew. (Code); I was in Division 2, Vice at the time...Sgt. Ruffin was running the crew. To be human is to make mistakes. To own it, is to be a solid man. It doesnt matter what went on, you were straight with me and I appreciated it. Thank you for sharing your story. There are two types of vatos in this word; those who caper and accept their sins and those who caper and blame others. Take care brother and it was great seeing you here.

I was locked up with Ruben in Florence Prison Camp. He was such a cool dude, had some good talks with him. It's awesome to see him on here. 💯

I remember seeing Ruben on tv in LA during his arrest and trial. He was an angry man. He is a different man today. Bless him for helping others and Bless those that still need to heal.

I remember rubens story from back. He was interviewed by the news when he got out. I remembered it this whole time...I really needed to hear it today because I don't know what happened to my hope. Thanks.

By the title of the video, I expected it to not be authentic. I was a fighter and a police officer in a very high crime city in the same era. This man speaks truths. When you give you receive, there is no better way to grow than by giving. I am glad he made his journey so far; he is a strong man.

I knew Ruben from a gym I use to train out of. Real great guy and I was super stoked to see that he did an interview with you!

Reuben could make a legitimate career travelling and sharing his story. God bless him. This is among the top interviews Mark has ever done in terms of its potential impact.
