That body cam footage is on point. Even if the graphics were "bad" it would still look like real footage because of the accurate GoPro camera

Honestly I've really been wanting a new big shooter to do some visual styling like this. As much as games like Battlefield 3 and Kane and Lynch 2 had issues in their visual style, I liked the effort to go for a real gritty looking / war found footage visual style that actually affected the game in many ways. MW2 is playing with it a lil bit as of late, making some spectator cameras appear as bodycams on whomever you are watching, but I would love to see this go further.

We've had photo realistic graphics for a long time. The key to making it look real is accurate head movement, Ray traced lighting and exposure levels. All 3 of these things were used in this project and look at the result. Same as that Japanese train station footage that looked so Head movement and lighting was all it took. The way we move in game isn't the way we move in real life and until developers realize this then games will continue to look But not real

I think that the creator of the original video is going to release this game. Considering how the video exploded, and its number of subscribers I think it wouldn't surprise me if publishers came to see it or even people who are willing to work on this project. I think he will be able to form a team and create a real concept (hire 3D artist for environnement). I can't wait to see the future of this and hope they will make a good story based game.

Two things that make that so realistic: lens distortion (fish eye) and the exposure (the sky is completely whit because of how bright it is, just like in real cameras that aren't hdri, usually used on police or military operations)

This is so frustrating because it looks 100% photoreal until the gun fires - that is absolutely not what a pistol does when it fires and it's so immersion breaking 🤣 well done to the creators, but damn I hope they tone that down a little.

Shirk has done a lot of work, worked on the original No More Room in Hell, ex-dev of Dead Matter also. I remember when the map was in production. Great guy

i mean, the environment was a store asset yes. his tech art on the camera, vfx, sound etc that pushed it that extra mile, was not.

What makes it look real for me is the shatty filter. It looks exactly like a low quality cellphone camera from 2010 with fisheye somehow. Also it’s meant to be a helmet cam not a body cam
