How to Transfer Data From Nintendo 3DS to Nintendo 3DS XL

Sold my 3DS then got a 2DS. Didn't know I had to do this transfer or I would have done it at Gamestop right before the guy erased my stuff. Fuuuuhhhh.

glad I watched this, I have a 3DS with a 32gb and I was scared that I was going to have to get a second 32gb SD card in order to put my games on my new XL. Thanks Nintendo for sparing me $10. Promise that saved $10 will got towards Fire Emblem: Fates.

One major issue is the fact when anyone gets the 3DS XL the transfer process will erase the saved data from purchases made from the old 3DS from the eshop, so even if you keep your old 3DS system you have to re-purchase all the DLC you transferred. I found that out when I transferred data from a DSi XL to my red 3DS.

I got my 3DS XL in 2014. Have not touched my old 3DS since I beat ORAS. Finally doing this but I'm a bit scared I will mess up.

Yea, I was worried about that as well. So much time put into Find Mii, it would have be horrible to lose it. As for the price coming down, you may be waiting some time for that. Seeing as the DSiXL is still around $130 new. In the end though, I feel the upgrade is well worth it.

So if I want to get the New 3DS XL I can't sell my old one until after I buy the 3DS? Why can't it be like PSN or XBL so that everything is locked to the ID and not the system essentially?

I have a question:
I just got a New Galaxy 3Ds XL. I was transferring my data to it from my 3Ds XL, but it said that it would delete my streetpass data. Does that mean that I have to restart streetpass Mii Plaza, or does it mean that the streetpass data for the Galaxy 3Ds will be deleted? Also, will it transfer over all of my friends and apps? Thanks!

your eShop account gets transfered aswell as the little bits of extra data that games use which usually save your streetpass data. plus there's your progress for the builtin games such as streetpass quest.
pics, downloaded games, music, won't be transfered.

Video is great. I got a new 2DS today, and I was sad because I thought I couldn't use the data from my 3DS on my 2DS, Thank god for system transfer!

I know it would only be a while longer if you had brightness to full, power save mode off, sound to full and playing on wifi on 3D, but it really stands out when the 3DS XL is shut over. When walking around with ur 3DS it would cut off before you were done. It was announced to have like +86% battery life, which sounds more than hour to me, since I use my 3DS for around 3 hours before it cuts off, so another +86% would be around 5 hours.

The larger screen is awesome and the way to console feels in your hands is perfect. I plan on getting one for an overall better gaming experience. If you have the cash, go for it. Do the system transfer, then you can sell your console online. You will get more then if you would trade it in.
