Why do all medications like this one have to be administered through eye injections?
Why can’t some treatment be delivered without having a needle stuck in the patient’s eye?

I'm 76 and was recently diagnosed with dry form AMD being treated
by a retinal specialist who is actively involved in clinical trials. I'm
open to joining a drug trial and am actively pursuing that goal.

But, given what I know the two drugs that are currently FDA approved
have been proven to do little if anything to slow the progression and
I must say that this video is mostly B.S.

I hate to say it but cursory research will show any patient that these
drugs which cost $2000 per month are useless in respect to slowing
the progression of the disease. I wish that wasn't the case but it is
what it is and I don't want to risk the side effects and costs associated
with these drugs and only enrich the pharmaceutical industry.

are the ones asking the dumb questions pretending to be stupid or are some people really that ignorant of the difference. i have a 7yr old grand daughter that knows the difference in an eye exam with an optometrist or seeing an ophthalmologist. and as someone that has been dealing with md for years, 2001 wet md in one eye, 2024 dry in the other eye, i want to tell all of you including the doctor, it is not age related md, it is md period. i have had this argument for years with different doctors, this country has millions of young children with macular degeneration, please parents, do not fall into the word game with all these people. its great that the disease is being discussed more, if i had heard of it before 2001 i could have possibly saved my vision. i was several months too late seeing someone, he told me they could have either saved my central vision from the wet md with cold laser treatments if i had just come in earlier. if your kids have eye problems an optometrist can see there is a problem and tell you to see the experts.
