Game-Changing Treatment for Geographic Atrophy | Duke Health

People with geographic atrophy -- a form of dry macular degeneration -- experience debilitating central vision loss, and until recently there was no treatment. A new drug called SYFOVRE™, or pegcetacoplan, promises to change that. Recently approved by the FDA, it can slow or stop vision loss in people with geographic atrophy. Here Elenora Lad, an ophthalmologist at Duke Health, talks about this game-changing treatment and what it means for people with macular degeneration.
