Nicola Bagalà is one of the best advocates of rejuvenation therapies that I know. I follow him since he did a blog called "Rejuvenaction" some years ago. In this video, he discusses in a profound way a very important question. I ask everybody of the rejuvenation community: don't miss this video, let's spread it on YouTube, Facebook and social media, and let's give this video the audience it needs and deserves. It's not everyday we have such opportunity.

Thanks for another informative episode. I'd call biological aging a syndrome or medical condition before I'd call it a "disease", but regardless of what others refer to it as, the important part is to not get caught up in naming conventions, but rather, acknowledge that age-related illnesses like Alzheimer's and osteoarthritis and literally thousands of others are terrible and damage repair-based medical research deserves well-informed support through advocacy and/or donations.

What if we stopped arguing about whether aging is a disease or not, and instead change the misguided policy that says we can't approve a drug that fixes a problem, no matter how "normal" it is. What's the point of that "rule", anyway? What are they afraid of?

Hi Nichola, great video, I'm sure there is a lot of hard work behind it.

I fully support the idea of having the WHO classifying aging as a disease for the reasons you commented in the video. However, I have to say that a few days ago I heard an explanation to justify why they don't do so, that quite honestly called my attention. This person said that in the well established public health systems like the ones in place in most European countries, when someone have a disease and visit a doctor, is the obligation of the doctor to indicate the treatments, drugs or whatever means to cope with it, and if feasible, to cure it.

The problem arises, the argument goes, by the fact that the treatments, therapies, drugs, etc, that are needed to aminorate or cure the disease, in these countries are given at no cost for the patients, that is, the States cover the costs. Then, the reasoning continues, if aging is classified as a disease, it will imply that all of a sudden the governments will be themselves in need to attend millions of citizens claiming they are illed and wanting to be treated or cured for free.

I wondering what do you think of this argument and how to get around it.
