Track Switches For CSX Freight Train

This is a video I made of tracks automatically switching for a CSX train to enter another train line in Plant City Florida.

Good point! It makes sense since it's the same mainline and a Tampa to Orlando area alternative has been kicked around for years. I do miss the 70s and early 80s when it was easy to catch a northbound train out of TUS, ride up to Orlando or Sanford and then comeback on a southbound. Simple railfan outing that I did several times then. Sad that we lost that option since we're down to just the Silver Star.

Thanks for that tip Mellenniumforce! So it sounds like me may see almost as many trains as in the "Folkston Funnel". I only wish that we had the Champion / Silver Meteor and Floridian running through the Plant City diamonds again.

Horace, for train action in the Plant City area, just go to the downtown Plant City station in the early afternoons as you'll see Amtrak's Silver Star and CSX intermodals on the east-west "A-Line" and hopper and tank trains on the north-south "S-Line".

There will be even more train action early next year. They are predicting about 50 trains a day when the new yard opens in Auberndale/Winter Haven More trains will be coming down the S Line.

Again people!!!  This video was in no way illegal or I was in danger!!  The camera was on the sidewalk at a crossing on Lake Ave. in Plant City Florida and zoomed in to the switch.  I know what I am doing for when I was a teenager I hopped trains for fun now I am 49 and still here..

The railroad is right next to my home so when a train goes by I leave and go to the next town to film it
