These are some of the most dangerous airplane landings in the world. Watch as airplanes try to land on challenging runways, in heavy crosswinds, or when they lose an engine.

A special thanks to everyone that took the time to film these aircraft and incidents. They have incredible patience and a true passion for aviation. Be sure to check out their channels using the links to the full length original videos listed below:

The one plane that hit the water prior to you saying rinse the tires off, was a plane that made an emergency landing here in Seattle Washington. He had no other options and wanted to try and be as close to shore without endangering people. Pilot survived.

No, the Ryanair technique is allowed in gusty crosswinds to plant the aircraft on the runway. The Rad Alt will not let them deploy until 5 feet

Great Channel! Just the facts glued together with a brilliant commentary by a safety conscious pilot with tremendous experience!

Flown Ryanair manys-a-time. I feel like their flight safety has improved, esp their landings, they used to be horrible. But videos like this help to keep them honest and make the sky safer for everyone. Thank you

The one crashing in the hangar definitely thought he was driving a car.

Trying to take off before hitting the hangar looks like a flight sim type move!

Much rather go around, but sometimes the weather doesn’t improve. I was in an Alaska Airlines flight to Dutch Harbor that, a week earlier, hit the wingtip upon landing. We had similar crosswinds buffeting the aircraft, but landed safely. The passengers cheered.
Soon after, visibility dropped to less than a quarter mile, and all flights were grounded. A few unlucky cannery workers had been waiting for three days to get out to Akutan.
Just another day in the Aleutians.

That A380 landing was an incredible showing of skill.

Ryan air one actually is great piloting skill; the thrust reverser one the upwind engine helps counter the extreme crosswind. In the end he landed safely and that's what that matters.

Ryanair still has one of the best safety records in modern sure they're an aviation meme but they have never had a fatal crash, only one hull loss and they do literally double the amount of flights of their nearest competition in their market which includes Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

What I know about being a pilot you could write on the back of a postage stamp with a sharpie, but man - that 380 crab landing was awesome.

This is why at the airline I flew for you were to never try to salvage a hard or bounced landing. Go around was mandatory. Thanks

I prefer RyanAir pilots any day of the week tbh, due to the fact they are well used to short journeys and lots of landings in shitty weather(Ireland).
Keeps those motor skills fresh and on top of their A-game.
A fleet of 575 Boeing 737 aircraft with another 224 on order...its actually really impressive

"The one thing he [the student pilot] does well is that he looks really calm as he makes one bad decision after ther other..." now, I was already LMAO at this one, and then "...probably because, as a student pilot, he's no prior experience to tell him how much he [has really screwed up]" had me rolling on the floor. There are more than a few good aviation-related channels on utube...but you do have a knack for telling stories in a way that's never dull yet always sound professional.

That Ryanair landing was perfectly acceptable in gusty and turbulent conditions, thrust reverse initiation helps to nail the plane to the ground once the landing is commited to. Ryanair come in for a lot of negative comment but their pilots are top grade and very experienced on the B737. The same effect used to be achieved by using lift-dumpers on the wing upper surface of earlier jet aircraft.

I spoke with a pilot that works for RyanAir that claimed that their pilots generally are very good and get tons of experience. He was moving to another airline and claimed that Ryanair pilots are one of the few that the new airline (which I forgot which one it was) doesn't require to do simulation training. Something like that, I was quite a few beers in.
