Gluteal region | Anatomy Tutorial - Greater sciatic foramen & lesser sciatic foramen

preview_player
Показать описание
The sacrotuberous and sacrospinous ligaments convert the greater sciatic notch and lesser sciatic notch into greater sciatic foramen and lesser sciatic foramen, respectively.
The greater sciatic foramen is considered as the “door of the gluteal region” through which all arteries and nerves
enter into the gluteal region from the pelvis.
By way of the suprapiriform foramen are leaving the pelvis the superior gluteal nerve and the superior gluteal artery.
By way of the infrapiriform foramen are passing much more structures and those are:
The inferior gluteal artery and inferior gluteal nerve.
The sciatic nerve (which is the most lateral structure)
The posterior cutaneous nerve of thigh.
Nerve to quadratus femoris.
Nerve to obturator internus.
Pudendal artery and pudendal nerve.

Great job, very nice and simple. I like the dark background it takes the lesson to a different level. Please post more videos with this theme.

Beatiful illustration <3. But "the nerve to obturatorius internus" is the obturator nerve, right? Unlike other nerves which don't have specific names and innervate their muscles only, nervus obturatorius internus innervates all adductor muscles of the thigh too (except for pectineus muscle). Pay some respect for my nerve haha!
EDIT: Woah, I was wrong. They're two separate nerves, and it seems obturatorius internus "ab"ducts the thing (when it's flexed). My bad
