As Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam continue to investigate their options for a future stadium, the city has released a comprehensive financing plan to renovate the existing facility on the lakefront.

In what the city calls "a competitive deal to retain the Cleveland Browns at their current stadium site," Mayor Justin Bibb has put forth a $461 million proposal to the Haslams that includes a 30-year lease arrangement.

These rich families are really greedy and they better pay for it out of their own pockets.

you all are missing the point, most of the patrons that go to the games are not from the city. they live in the suburbs. easier drive better parking and many more events...

Although a dome in BP would be beneficial for the entire area with a new entertainment area, possible super bowl and national championships ect....saying that taking away people being downtown 8-10 times a year isn't going to impact the city is a little short sighted. Those browns games 8-10 times a year are the 8-10 biggest business days for a lot of bars and restaurants downtown, in the flats, and elsewhere that aren't owned by billionaires. Those browns games may make or break it for certain places

Let the Haslams pay for the whole thing. Everyone wants a dome, Cleveland has greater priorities, it will bring jobs and a few more venues. Haslam will have to help develop downtown stadium locations. It’s a win win for all.

Let's say Haslam decides to pay for the dome in Brook Park himself. Now you people are saying he also owes the city to help redevelop the current site? News flash... He doesn't own that stadium or the land. The current stadium site pre-dates his ownership of the Browns. He wouldn't owe anything, nor should he.

It makes sense to build a dome it can be used all year round & with a business mindset that’s more profitable than the older stadium which is useless when the winter times come & season is over build the dome! Its not even far from Cleveland at all brookpark is literally like a 15 to 25 min drive from downtown

Bull always talks about Jimmy but the bengals owner barely wants too spend a dime on anything 😂

Cleveland Browns home games should be played outside. Not in a garbage dome stadium.

Just shows which owners actually cares about Cleveland. Gilbert invests in Cleveland and Haslam takes money out of Cleveland.

I cant believe so many Browns fans want a dome. I love the rain, cold, and snow. That is Browns football. Dont put words in the fans mouths. We like the open

THIS IS ABOUT ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY.. Jimmy wants your jingle.. $X2 your Browns Sunday. JImmy wants Ohio soccer $ Jimmy wants Wisconsin NBA $. For those who want the Barcalounger Stadium experience keep supporting the "Haslem Sports Group".. Football has nothing to do with it..

This is opposite to RAVENS M&TBank stadium. During games people flock downtown. There is a bar right across the street from the stadium, it gets so packed you can't get in ! The casino is right next to the stadium. PACKED During games ! Must be the opposite in Cleveland.

The idea that the Haslams would owe it to the city to redevelop the current location if they move to brook park made me audibly chuckle.

Also at the beginning of the video they mentioned the age of the stadium but that really shouldn’t have anything to do with the conversation bc the issue there is that this stadium was not built to the standards of other stadiums. Like yes the structure is still ok but other stadiums have way more capabilities with how they were built that Cleveland just didn’t account for when they rushed to build this stadium.

Brookpark would be a perfect location. Infrastructures already there to a good degree. The access is far superior. The Brookpark location would get more events and bring in more people outside of the Cleveland area.

The biggest issue for keeping the stadium where it’s at is that there’s basically no access and the no parking anywhere near the stadium.

So here’s my dumb take… if the browns move to Brookpark, which I believe is the better of the two current options, the Harland have to seriously decrease their expectations of what their “partnership” will provide. And the city of Cleveland shouldn’t provide nearly as much. Especially since they’re still paying off the original stadium.

Here’s my other dumb take. I’d like to see what kind of land the has land could come up with near the tower city and riverfront area. You know the one where Dan Gilbert has been trying to re develop. The same area that mayor Bibb just a week ago proposed giving $1billion in subsidies to… that’s the only win win win situation I can see happening, I just don’t know if there’s enough land there to make it all happen.

Football was born in Ohio, longtime brown fan and I say dome stadium, keep it to our advantage playing in snow and cold weather

Across the river from tower city the Cuyahoga river snakes around a peninsula. Dan Gilbert’s real estate company want to invest $3 billion into the tower city area across the river and mayor Bibb wants to put up $1billion in subsidies. If the brown built their stadium there it’d have all three stadiums in spitting distance of each other. It keeps the stadium in downtown. It fixes the accessibility issue… that’s what I would be shooting for.

Should we build a dome for the Buckeyes too? Maybe change to flag or two hand touch. The elements and real grass are old school.

Brookpark has more room for growth. Giving the current stadium upgrades is lipstick on a pig! But just get a NEW STADIUM is the key.

These stadiums have become a nessasary evil to compete with business. Cleveland has always been slow to change and resist the trends of today.
The Haslams are not Jerry Jones but want to follow his example.

Keep it downtown! Dome or no dome-keep the Browns Stadium downtown. Having the stadium downtown keeps downtown alive and brings more ppl into the city. I say build the new stadium in the flats-there already is new restaurants, infrastructure and empty plots of land to support a sports neighborhood and new stadium. People love being on the water. Cleveland's biggest mistake as a city was not developing the waterfront like other major cities-they have too much residential housing and Burke front airport taking up precious real estate. Look at Chicago-they have gorgeous beaches around the city on Lake Michigan. The answer is simple: build the new stadium in the flats on the river/waterfront. There is absolutely nothing in Brookpark-no attractions, nothing fun to do. Haslam is making a big mistake if he moves the Browns Stadium to Brookpark.
